Differences from the official release

Our version is built directly from the source code, including signed executables for Windows, ensuring quality and security. For macOS users, we offer notarized packages for Apple Silicon and for the Intel CPUs. Linux enthusiasts will find both a tarball and an AppImage, compatible across numerous distributions.

The release we offer include a number of improvements not present in the official Lite XL distribution. Here a list of the improvements:

  • HiDPI support on Windows, ensuring the application automatically adapts to HiDPI displays for sharp text and optimal rendering upon launch.
  • terminal plugin out-of-the-box for Windows, Linux, and macOS, featuring style adjustments for seamless system integration. The JetBrains bold font face ensures clear display of bold fonts in the terminal.
  • a notable fix for the autoreload plugin (see github issue 1183) to avoid truncating the file's content when the files are updated by an external command.
  • a slightly adjusted LCD filtering for low res ordinary monitors, text should show now less color fringes, especially for white text in a dark background.

Additionally, we include syntax highlighting plugins for popular programming languages, eliminating the need to download them separately. We've also integrated a highly useful bracket matching plugin, a staple in coding editors, to enhance your coding experience.
